About Us
Hi there! My name is Clarissa Effa, and I am the Owner and Pastry Chef behind Cottage Confectionary!
For as long as I can remember, I have always been a big fan of desserts. In my early teens, I decided that when I grow up, I wanted to be a Pastry Chef — basically making cake for a living sounded like a great plan!
I graduated with high honors from the Culinary Institute of America up in Napa Valley. While there, I learned from incredible chefs, completed my externship at Bouchon Bakery (where my interest in macarons all began!), and made some incredible life long friends.
Following graduation, I moved back to Southern California and worked in kitchens such as The Four Seasons, Salt & Straw, and Lincoln.
